PR Week publisher Haymarket Publishing is to launch a US edition of

the magazine in November.

The new magazine, Haymarket’s first weekly publication in the US, will

be edited by Adam Leyland, currently editor of journalists’ trade title

Press Gazette. The launch team will be led by Stephen Farish, publisher

of PR Week. The bulk of the 25-strong team will be recruited in the US

and will include journalists based in key locations across the

country.

The New York-based magazine will have a weekly print run of 20,000 in

the first year and a nation-wide circulation.

November will also see the launch of a PR Week web site covering news

and issues on both sides of the Atlantic.

Haymarket founder and non-executive director Michael Heseltine said:

’The decision to launch an American magazine for the PR industry was

born out of numerous suggestions we received from leading members of the

American industry.’

The PR market in the US is the largest and most mature in the world.

Following the relocation of International Public Relations, all top ten

worldwide consultancies will be headquartered in the US, and deriving

the majority of their income from that market.

’PR Week US will build on the journalistic and design strengths and

relations with the industry that have made PR Week a success in the UK,

but it will be a distinctly US product,’ said Farish.
