Agencies working for retail group Facia are waiting to hear what will

happen to their accounts following the collapse of the company earlier

this week.

Facia was using several agencies before it went into receivership,

including First Financial, which has supported Facia since January 1995

but is thought to see this week’s collapse as a curtailing of the

account. Ogilvy Adams and Rinehart, has provided consumer PR to Facia’s

Sock Shop and Oakland brands since August 1995 and Red Rooster PR has

worked for designer chain Red or Dead since the agency was established

four years ago.

A fourth agency, Barclay Stratton, has worked since last year for

Facia’s luggage chain Salisbury, leather goods shop Mayfair Trunks and

costume jewellery network Torq.

An Ogilvy Adams and Rinehart spokeswoman told PR Week that, following a

call from Facia on Monday, its work for Sock Shop had been put on hold,

while its Oakland account had already paused due to a planned relaunch

in the autumn.

Red Rooster director Catherine Morris, said it was business as usual,

adding: ‘We are certainly still working on the account.’

The receivers from Grant Thornton and KPMG have reported numerous

expressions of interest in different parts of the group, with Salisbury

alone prompting 30 inquiries.
