This is the first time Egmont has taken on PR support. Braben will work across Egmont's three divisions: Egmont Magazines, Egmont Press and Egmont Publishing.

Egmont publishes top children's titles, such as Wallace & Gromit, Thomas the Tank Engine, Postman Pat and Winnie the Pooh.

Braben begins work immediately with a campaign for the first Winnie the Pooh book to be published for 80 years. Return to Hundred Acre Wood will be available from 5 October.

The media specialist agency will also work on Christmas projects and an investigation into how the digital publishing world is evolving.

Braben MD Matt Bourn said: ‘Egmont is a hidden gem with a growing reputation that does not do its commercial success justice.'

Braben will be reporting to Reeta Bhatiani, comms director at Egmont. She said: ‘Braben understands our business and is perfectly placed to help build our reputation.'
