Dalton quits Maureen Cropper PR



Rachel Dalton, managing director of healthcare agency Maureen Cropper

PR, has left the firm after what she described as ‘irreconcilable

disagreements’ about her role.



NatWest calls in Odgers to replace Lewis



NatWest Group has briefed headhunter Odgers to find a replacement for

Simon Lewis as director of corporate communications. Lewis leaves

NatWest on 13 September to join British Gas Energy as its first director

of corporate affairs. His responsibilities at NatWest will be

temporarily managed by assistant director Ben Woodford.



Kilkenny resigns from Larkspur board



Alan Kilkenny, currently rumoured to be the unpaid PR adviser to Camilla

Parker-Bowles, has resigned as a non-executive director of Larkspur

Communications. His ex-wife Melinda has also left the board although she

remains a shareholder.



Ludgate picks up Goldbrand account



Ludgate Communications has been hired by Goldbrand, the British Gas/HFC

Bank joint venture to launch the brand and a new credit card this year.

Appointed after a three-way pitch in July, Ludgate will target the City

and retail financial press. Sources estimate the fee at around pounds

130,000 a year.



Scottish HEB chooses Citigate



The Health Education Board for Scotland has appointed Citigate Scotland

as its first external PR consultant. Four other agencies pitched for the

12 month contract after a call for tender in July.



Marshall to manage press for ICS



Pamela Marshall, chief press officer at the Securities and Investments

Board, will join the Investors Compensation Scheme as press and investor

relations manager in October. She replaces David Cresswell, who quit the

ICS in July to become head of communications for the charity Gifts in

Kind.



Inchcape seeks employee communicator



International distribution company Inchcape is seeking an employee

communications manager. Recruitment for the post coincides with Johanna

Lavender’s promotion to group PR manager.



Finsbury beats three for SIG contract



Finsbury has won the financial PR account of SIG, Europe’s largest

distributor of insulation products. Three other agencies pitched for

the business which was previously held by Binns and Co.



Spreng’s position confirmed at GA



Insurance firm General Accident has confirmed Callum Spreng’s

appointment as communications manager. He has been acting manager since

Ray Andrews left in March to set up his own consultancy. Dave Acari

becomes internal comms manager.



Prostate Cancer Charity seeks PR



The Prostate Cancer Charity is looking for a PR consultant or agency to

work on a pro bono basis. The charity was set up to fund research into

the disease and provide information and support to patients and their
