The new appointments coincide with recent management changes as account directors, Louisa Desborough and Suzy Garrett were promoted to joint heads of the division.

Meral Nugent brings over 10 years of healthcare experience to the team, across both the private and public sectors. Before joining Freshwater, Nugent worked for The Central Office of Information leading on campaigns for Whitehall clients. She has also worked at the NHS Executive London regional office, the South Thames Transplant Coordination Unit at King's College Hospital and the British Medical Association.

Charlotte Tyler joins Freshwater from Comic Relief where she held the role of regional media manager for Red Nose Day '09. Tyler also previously led on external communications for the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

‘As the healthcare team goes from strength to strength, it is crucial that we continue to build a team of talented communications professionals with strong experience in the sector,' said Freshwater chief executive Steve Howell.

The team works with clients including NHS Blood and Transplant, the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement and the National Specialised Commissioning Group.
