DIARY: A career in PR can be a long and slippery slope

Charles Barker is once again handling PR for the Ski and Snowboard Show, an event held annually in November at London’s Olympia.

Show, an event held annually in November at London’s Olympia.

And for the first time the PR industry can get actively involved. The

reason? While my would-be rivals the Daily Mail are sponsoring the show,

PR Week is backing a special ski race night for the PR industry on 5

November.

Consultancies are invited to assemble teams of six to join us in a

series of ski races on the astroturf slopes.

For the low price of pounds 50 agencies can pit their wits against the

very best downhillers in the business. Prizes for the winning team are

impressive and include travel vouchers and a coveted PR Week trophy, so

how can you resist? To book your team a night on the slopes call

organisers Skiworld on 0171 602 0722.

I’m told that apres ski is an important part of the sport and this event

will be no exception. For those of you dedicated to a night on the piste

there is a prize of a crate of beer for the noisiest supporters.
