Lille Metropole Communaute Urbaine, the French Government agency in charge of attracting inward investment to Lille and its surrounding area, has appointed Interel Marien to promote the city among Belgian businessmen and opinion-formers. The agency begins work next month on a three-year contract which, until it was put up for tender last January, had been held by fellow Belgian agency, Van Lukyen since 1992. Emmanuel Goedseels, account director at Interel Marien, said: ’The aim is to demonstrate Lille’s assets as an interesting economic centre at the crossroads of Europe.’
