WASHINGTON DC: The head of Ketchum’s international operation, Jerry

Olszewski, is leaving Europe after eight years to return to the US. He

will continue to oversee the agency’s 11 Asian, European and Latin

American offices from there.

Olszewski has spent the past eight years working in Europe for Ketchum,

three years in Munich and then in London. He holds the agency’s most

senior post in Europe, Asia and Latin America, where the heads of

country offices report to him.

He leaves next month for Ketchum’s Washington DC office, where he began

his career 19 years ago. He will continue to report directly to

Ketchum’s New York-based president and chief operating officer Ray

Kotcher.

Olszewski says his relocation is down to his family and the schooling of

his children.

One advantage of the move is that Olszewski will have less travelling to

meet with the other five members of Ketchum’s executive committee, which

meets monthly in New York.

’From a management point of view, an international job can be done from

anywhere in the world,’ said Olszewski.

Olszewski’s remit includes major international clients such as

pharmaceutical companies Astra Merck and Pharmacia and Upjohn, Federal

Express and market research firm AC Nielsen.
