Nando’s names Lawson Dodd for expansion plans

Restaurant and retail chain Nando’s has appointed Lawson Dodd to run its PR as it expands out of the London area into the rest of the UK.

Restaurant and retail chain Nando’s has appointed Lawson Dodd to

run its PR as it expands out of the London area into the rest of the

UK.

Nando’s currently has 15 restaurants within the M25 and plans to expand

nationwide with the opening of a further eight over the next two

years.

As well as running own-brand restaurants, Nando’s sells its own products

such as Peri-Peri chicken, marinades, salad dressings and sauces in

supermarkets in the UK.

Lawson Dodd’s brief will cover both Nando’s new restaurant openings and

its retail activities.

The agency won the account after a three-way pitch against Red Rooster

and PRB PR. QBO, which held the account for two years, declined to

repitch for the work.

Lawson Dodd director Joanna Dodd will head a team of four working on the

account, and will report to a three-strong team at Nando’s, consisting

of UK managing director Robbie Enthoven, marketing manager Heidi

Hutchison and Nando’s groceries MD Phil Lynas.

Enthoven said: ’We know we will work well with Lawson Dodd. They

understood the Nando’s personality immediately and that decided it.’

The contract is initially for six months, although this is expected to

be extended.
