Kodak seeks EMEA health imaging PRO

Eastman Kodak has created a new role to run PR across Europe, the

Middle East and Africa (EMEA) within its health imaging division.

Health imaging mainly makes X-ray films and equipment. Kodak operates

the largest healthcare imaging business in the world and it is the

second largest division within the company. The communications and

business research manager will be responsible for appointing

business-to-business PR agencies to serve the division.

The division has no retained agencies. PR was previously handled by

local country marketing departments.

The manager will oversee a team of four. He or she will report to Jean

Marc Laigle, European marketing director of health imaging, and will

liaise closely with regional business heads, the worldwide health

imaging communication team and regional corporate communications

director Jon Chandler.

The post will oversee business research for the region, feeding

information about customers and the competition into the business.

Kodak last year acquired the health imaging business of data storage

company Imation, and is now developing digital applications for its

X-ray products as the health industry begins to adopt the

technology.

The job has been created as part of a drive to centralise communications

for the business. The Imation acquisition has increased the need for

streamlining.

Chandler said: ’It’s a rapidly changing industry. The ability to

communicate both the human and business benefits of what we do is

essential.’
