Ludgate merges financial units to improve focus

Ludgate Communications has merged its corporate, European and City divisions into one financial PR unit in a bid to refocus its financial offering.

Ludgate Communications has merged its corporate, European and City

divisions into one financial PR unit in a bid to refocus its financial

offering.

The agency is also setting up loose, sector-specific teams across the

new financial unit including IT/telecoms and retail and leisure.

The new financial PR unit, to be known as Ludgate financial, will be

headed by former City PR head Reg Hoare.

Ludgate’s corporate PR team was leaderless since the departure of Neil

Garnett, who was made redundant last year, while the agency’s European

unit did not have an overall head.

In his new role, Hoare will report to Ludgate Communications CEO Robin

Hepburn.

Ludgate financial becomes one of three divisions in the agency. The

structure of Ludgate design and Ludgate public affairs are

unchanged.

Hepburn said: ’The more divisions we have, the more it divides people

into different camps. We need less management and less structure.’

He added that having three separate divisions within the overall

financial offering had made it difficult to focus client handling and

new business.
