Who is the web baron?
Bristol 24-7, 'the Google of Bristol', is the brainchild of editor Chris Brown, a former journalist at the Western Daily Press and The Independent. He believes advertising has deserted newspapers and will not return. He sees digital marketing as the future and will offer this through the site.
Get the tone right
As long as it's Bristol, it's welcome. 'I need a good story to tell, but also fast access to the people involved,' says Brown. 'I aim to be proactive and I ask for that proactive approach from PROs too.'
Brown's experiment is all about building long-term relationships. 'The ideal approach is one that looks past the single story and sees the chance to build business relationships between clients and Bristol 24-7, through sponsorship of dedicated sections or using the digital marketing services we offer,' says Brown.
