BORDER LINES: HONG KONG - H&K appoints Asia-Pacific CEO

Hill and Knowlton has promoted vice-president Vivian Lines to the new position of chief operating officer for the Asia-Pacific region to oversee the company’s continuing expansion. Lines, who was previously responsible for five offices in Greater China, will now oversee the company’s 14 regional offices employing around 200 staff.

Hill and Knowlton has opened two offices in the region since the

beginning of 1998 and plan to open three more in South Korea, the

Philippines and India - at least one of these by the end of 1999. Lines

will report to Asia Pacific vice-president Brian West.
