DIARY: Alan Capper claims he is alive, but only just

Been wondering what’s become of PR’s Mr Big, aka Alan Capper, former worldwide chairman of The Rowland Company? ’Course you have.

Been wondering what’s become of PR’s Mr Big, aka Alan Capper, former

worldwide chairman of The Rowland Company? ’Course you have.

Well, since he linked up with Tim Bell’s Chime Group he’s been busy,

busy, busy.

A recent week’s work saw him standing in for Sir Tim at Baroness

Thatcher’s 70th birthday bash in Washington. Then came dinner with PLO

leader, Yasser Arafat, who had been invited to speak at the Kennedy

school, Harvard, where Capper is on the board.

Next up, a press conference with New York’s chief Rabbi on the Sunday

after the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzak Rabin.

‘Dealing with nine TV crews on a Sunday proved rather taxing,’ said

Capper last week, rushing off for a turkey and squash Thanksgiving

lunch. ‘Get that diary piece in, I want people to know I’m still alive.’
