Christian energy supplier Ebico calls in 3 Monkeys Communications

Ebico, a Christian non-for-profit energy supplier, has called in 3 Monkeys Communications to handle consumer PR.

The agency will try to raise Ebico’s profile through media relations, and by targeting key opinion formers to drive word of mouth publicity.

The social enterprise currently supplies 55,000 consumers in the UK. It aims to reduce the fuel bills of low-income households by £1 million this year through energy efficiency measures and fair pricing.

Unlike other energy suppliers, it charges all its customers the same amount for electricity regardless of how they pay ie customers on pre-payment meters are not more expensive.
 
3 Monkeys director Christine Jewell, who will head up the team said, ‘Ebico has a unique and valuable offering in a key service industry that is constantly in the news.  We will position it as social enterprise and the leading brand for consumers who are not only looking for a fair deal, but also want to do something positive to end fuel poverty.’

Ebico was set up in 1998 by MD Phil Levermore. Its business principles are ‘motivated by and based on the Christian gospel’.
