DIARY: Frankie goes to Soho to pull PR punches, but will they be mad about the boy?

It seems that there may be some truth in rumours that reformed 1960s hoodlum ’Mad’ Frankie Fraser is setting up his own PR consultancy to specialise in handling media relations for gangsters and other members of the London underworld.

It seems that there may be some truth in rumours that reformed

1960s hoodlum ’Mad’ Frankie Fraser is setting up his own PR consultancy

to specialise in handling media relations for gangsters and other

members of the London underworld.

Fraser who was feared throughout South London during the 1960s when he

acted as a heavy for the infamous Richardson gang has just been hired by

Campari to toughen up its image but speculation has mounted in newspaper

diary columns that he is also about to move into the world of public

relations.

While this sounds a bit like a PR stunt in itself Fraser’s henchman

assures me that the agency, called Celebrity Profiling Service

(presumably a pun on Fraser’s old friends the Crown Prosecution

Service), is about to open its doors in Soho’s Wardour Street. ’We have

advised people for some time and the agency will formalise this

arrangement,’ he says.

It seems that Reggie Kray, a bitter rival of Fraser’s during the 1960s,

will be on CPS’ books. Fraser’s henchman says: ’Nobody represents Reggie

Kray, he speaks for himself. But we are giving him some advice.’

Fraser is on the brink of a deal with a Sunday newspaper so won’t

comment on the alleged move into PR but his henchman says that all will

be revealed in due course. Until then we’ll have to wait and see
