Brando to help Gatwick

London Gatwick Airport has appointed Brando to help boost retail sales in the airport's shopping complex.

The agency has been brought in to run a four-month PR and experiential campaign over the summer.

Brando will be running an intensive media relations and event-led programme to remind holidaymakers about the shopping and money savings available at the airport.

The account will be headed by Brando MD Mandy Sharp.

One of the first jobs will be organising 'Gatwick Fashion Week' at the North Terminal with TV fashion presenter Gok Wan.

This comes as part of a major marketing campaign to increase retail spend at the airport, often seen as second best to Heathrow, during the peak summer months.

The marketing drive includes advertisers Naked, media planners MindShare and below-the-line agency DNX.

The activity will be supported by an extensive social media programme, run by David Cushman from Brando Social.
