DIARY: Adopting a simpler approach to self-promotion

Guests of the recent Communications Directors Forum are no doubt still recovering from the networking challenge.

Guests of the recent Communications Directors Forum are no doubt

still recovering from the networking challenge.

Having left clutching the usual brochures and business cards, one

giveaway may have stuck in their minds and pockets - CGI’s Mr Men

book.

Corporate brand management consultancy CGI decided a children’s book

would convey the company’s message perfectly. In usual Roger Hargreaves

style, the tale of Mr Clever’s trip to the forest ends with the

sentiment - ’I always make the right choice - do you? Think CGI’.

The book, masterminded by CGI’s creative department and written by

marketing director Sheila Lalani, looks like it may be a best seller

yet.

Although no promises have been made, attendees of next year’s Forum may

be treated to a sequel - Little Miss ’Did you get my press release?’

seems an obvious one.
