HONG KONG: Telecoms giant AT&T has hired Greg Brutus as regional

director of PR for Asia-Pacific.

Brutus joins from hi-tech PR agency Newell Public Relations where he was

an account director.

He replaces Miranda Duff who has relocated to join the communications

team at Concert, AT&T’s joint venture with British Telecom, in New

Jersey.

Reporting to Sue Fleming, international PR director at AT&T in New

Jersey, Brutus’ brief is to run PR in the Asia-Pacific region, including

PR support for two other joint ventures - Birla AT&T Communications in

India and FarEasTone in Taiwan.

While at Newell, Brutus served as senior counsel on the agency’s

technology and telecommunications clients, including Citrix Systems, New

T&T and Hong Kong Telecom. Prior to that he was a senior consultant at

Chelgate Asia for seven years where his experience included PR counsel

for mobile phone company Ericsson.

AT&T retains Newell rival Euan Barty Associates (EBA) for the region.
