PR21 - the agency formed from the sale of the Rowland Company to

Edelman PR Worldwide - has hired Sarah Dowden as a director responsible

for fashion and lifestyle.

She replaces former director Catherine Morris, whose contract expired at

the end of June but who left three months ago (PR Week, 21 April).

Dowden has just come back from a year travelling in the Far East having

closed down her agency, EM PR, after ten years working for clients such

as Warner Brothers Studios, Vans, BSkyB and the British Hairdressing

Awards.

She will report to PR21’s CEO, Beverley Kaye.

Kaye said: ’She will be responsible for directing and developing

lifestyle brands. It will not just be about giving tactical fashion

media relations but looking at directing quality, sound business counsel

to quality brands within the lifestyle arena.’

Dowden will count among her clients Speedo, Dune, Reebok and the

Smirnoff International Fashion Awards; a student-based awards event

involving 18 countries which will take place in New York in

November.

Dowden said: ’My area of expertise is in fashion, lifestyle and events.

I will be running media liaison programmes in conjunction with giving

marketing counsel. I am looking forward to working with an expanding

company - we have lots of plans.’
