Prozac manufacturer Eli Lilly has recruited John Ricketts from the

Houses of Parliament to work as NHS/Government relations manager within

an expanded corporate affairs team.

Ricketts replaces Roger Hudson, who moves internally to a new managerial

role responsible for the company’s input to a Government initiative on

diabetes.

Ricketts joins from the Parliamentary Information Unit - a subscription

service for corporates covering Government activity.

He has also edited The House magazine’s blue pages and worked for the

Liberal Democrats and US senator Gary Hart.

The company has also appointed Patricia O’Donoghue as senior product

communications manager, replacing Jo Ashton, who moves on to drug

company Novartis.

O’Donoghue joins from Cohn and Wolfe, where she handled global PR for

the Eli Lilly drug Zyprexa.

Both appointments report to Eli Lilly board director, corporate affairs,

Maxine Taylor. ’The pace of changes in the NHS means we need more staff

to be able to respond effectively,’ she said.
