Tourism New Zealand has moved former Los Angeles PR manager Annie

Dundas to London to become PR manager for UK and Europe.

Dundas replaces Louise Paul who has left the company after four years to

join EMI Classics as UK PR manager. In her new role, Dundas will report

to Tourism New Zealand’s regional manager, Barry Eddington.

The role primarily involves handling media relations in the UK, Ireland,

Scandinavia, France, Italy and the Netherlands.

Dundas, who has been with the organisation for five years, said: ’I was

ready for something new and had lived here before, so I was keen to come

back. The job is to manage all the European agencies and to spread the

global message which focuses on our brand - ’100 per cent Pure New

Zealand’.

’The brand is being re-launched in September with a lot of advertising

and PR involved. The main challenge is to get the PR integrated with the

rest of the marketing, and to reinforce the brand as much as we can,’

she added.

In the UK, Dundas will continue to work with existing agency of three

years, The Saltmarsh Partnership. UK visitors to New Zealand were up 13

per cent in the year to the end of May reaching 180,000. The UK is the

organisation’s main target market in Europe, but separate agencies are

also being retained in France, Italy, Benelux and the Nordic

countries.

The organisation is run from Wellington, New Zealand, but also has

offices in other countries - the US, France and Germany.

Among the future attractions that will receive the organisation’s

support is the America’s Cup yachting race in 2002.
