The agency won a competitive pitch to help raise the profile of the Viz brand both to the business-to-business and consumer sectors.

It will oversee a national PR campaign to support an exhibition of Viz characters and artwork launching in November and a focused PR campaign around the Viz comic book annual Council Gritter published in August.

Midas previously worked with the comic to launch its Roger Mellie's Profanisaurus book in 2007.

Steven Williams, Joint MD of Midas PR, said: ‘Viz is a unique brand that has the benefit both of contemporary appeal and enviable heritage. Its 30th anniversary is a great landmark and one that will be remembered.'
