Hertford International Group, the firm behind a range of pre-paid credit card and financial services, has brought in Bishopsgate Communications as its retained PR agency. The agency won the account via a competitive pitch process. Tavistock Communications was the incumbent agency.

Financial Express, the data company specialising in the collection and analysis of fund information, has hired Quill PR as its retained PR consultancy following a competitive pitch. The agency will advise Financial Express on media relations and corporate and brand positioning as part of an ongoing PR programme implemented through all relevant channels. Quill PR will also promote Financial Express' subsidiaries including Analytics, Trustnet and Investegate.

Linstock Communications has hired Keith Brookbank as a director to boost its financial services practice. Brookbank was previously a director at City agency Powerscourt, having joined in 2007 from Kreab Gavin Anderson. In his new role he will work closely with Linstock co-founder Simon Maule.

Editorial Intelligence has brought in Peter York, a leading strategic researcher, to become an associate and shareholder of the firm. York, also known as Peter Wallis, was co-founder of the influential management consultancy SRU with Lord Stevenson. As Peter York he writes a weekly column for The Independent. He will play a leading role in eiZeitgeist, Editorial Intelligence's growing opinion former analysis and publishing arm.
