Samsonite Group's VP of marketing comms has taken a senior role at Shine Communications

The Samsonite Group's global VP of marketing communications has joined Shine Communications today in a new senior role.

Richard Brett has joined Shine as director of planning and strategy.  He reports to Shine founder and MD Rachel Bell.

Shine MD Rachel Bell said: ‘Richard is another client side heavy hitter that’s chosen to join Shine.  We’re increasingly taking a lead agency position and Richard’s expertise in both above and below the line strategy and planning will really add to our existing strengths in this area.’

Brett said he was keen to return to agency life.  ‘I really felt Shine’s values fitted very strongly with my own.  My experience in integrated communications planning and strategy will help bring a fresh perspective to Shine’s work.’

At the Samsonite Group, Brett was responsible for integrated communications across PR, advertising, retail, CRM, on-line and branded materials. He recently re-organised all Samsonite communication functions so that the brand was communicated consistently across the globe, rolled out a new global celebrity focused advertising and PR campaign as well as launching the company’s partnership with Unicef.

Prior to Samsonite, Brett was a director at Ketchum, where he headed up the adidas, Dulux, Gillette, Pepsi and Tommy Hilfiger accounts.
