There is a lot to be said for working your way up the professional ladder through gaining experience and the industry should not ignore those without a degree. PR is a profession based on people and often the skills needed are best gained from hands-on experience rather than in a classroom.
Our industry would suffer if agencies only employed staff with degrees, in PR or otherwise. The best agencies are the ones that have a good mix of people from different backgrounds, with different experience and different levels of academic qualifications.
