Public Affairs: The week in lobbying

The Guardian has found the vast majority of its readers support a crackdown on lobbying. The papers conducted a poll of 5,000 readers of The Guardian and The Observer and found that 98 per cent supported a register of all lobbyists.

Nestle's head of public affairs and corporate social responsibility in the UK is departing for a senior comms role at TetraPak. Rupert Maitland-Titterton joins this week in the newly created position of director of external and environmental affairs.

Tube Lines head of public affairs Paul Lehmann is quitting the London Underground maintenance contractor after five years to become head of corporate comms and external relations at the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission.

Aviva has handed its public affairs account to Fleishman-Hillard. PRWeek revealed last month that Fishburn Hedges was set to lose the account (PRWeek, 8 May).

The Carbon Trust has installed Vanessa Pine as comms and stakeholder manager. She was previously associate director at Quintus Public Affairs.

Advocate, the healthcare public affairs agency, has hired Miles Windsor as a consultant. Windsor joins from his role as public affairs assistant at Ofcom.
