Munro & Forster selected by NHS Blood & Transplant

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) has appointed Munro & Forster to deliver the first national campaign to promote organ donation in the UK.

The multimedia brief was handed to the agency via the Central Office of Information.

It aims to deliver a significant increase in the number of people registering on the NHS Organ Donor Register.

Munro & Forster won the brief in a competitive pitch against The Red Consultancy and Consolidated PR.

NHSBT director of communications and public affairs Henrietta Joy said: ‘There are more than 10,000 people in the UK who need a transplant, with 1000 - three a day - dying every year on the waiting list. This campaign aims to convert people's good intentions about organ donation into active support.’

The campaign is expected to launch towards the end of 2009.

The appointment comes as part of a consortium of agencies being taken on, including ad agency Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO and communications planning agency Manning Gottlieb OMD.
