The brief is believed to be worth around £1m a year. Weber Shandwick will act as a ‘hub’ for all local markets in EMEA.
The account will join Weber Shandwick’s current brief for all non-consumer Microsoft PR across EMEA, including corporate and tech, which it has held since last September.
The online part of the account was previously held by The Red Consultancy which has been subsumed into a wider consumer and online division.
In May, Waggener Edstrom won the global brief for Microsoft's mobile comms business, taking over from incumbent Weber Shandwick. The UK Microsoft consumer and online account is held by 3 Monkeys, which was awarded in January.
