COI chooses 19 agencies for framework, The Independent's Ben Russell joins the LGA

- The Central Office of Information (COI) has selected 19 agencies for its new external engagement and facilitation framework. The COI evaluated 130 agencies before it decided on 19 agencies, including The Forster Company, Amazon Public Relations and Ipsos Mori. The new framework is worth approximately £5m per year and supports the COI's strategic consultancy division, aimed at public engagement. The COI is also reviewing its roster of agencies that specialise in merchandise and promotional items.

- The Local Government Association (LGA) has appointed Ben Russell, The Independent's political and home affairs correspondent, as its interim head of news. Russell will be taking over the LGA's five-strong media team from Richard Stokoe, who is leaving for a five-month unpaid career break.

- VisitEngland has appointed Trimedia UK to launch its £3m 'Enjoy England' marketing campaign. The multimedia campaign, which includes TV and print advertising, will aim to encourage Brits to use their free time - whether a lunch hour or a holiday - to explore what England has to offer. Trimedia UK has been awarded a six-month contract worth approximately £50,000.

- Adessi has been appointed by North Tyneside's Economy and Employment team to provide consultancy to childminders and nurseries across the borough. Adessi is working with childcare businesses throughout the borough to help develop marketing strategies, identify new business opportunities, and find better ways of promoting their services.

- Media Trust has been appointed by the Department for Communities and Local Government to work on a campaign called Digital Mentors. The campaign involves helping individuals in deprived communities to use social and community media such as websites, podcasts, digital photography, online publishing tools and local broadcast media.
