Who are the space barons?

Mark Hedges is the editor. Deputy editor Rupert Uloth is in charge of the magazine's new Best of British series. 'This celebrates aspects of Britain that are often forgotten and that make this country unique - from the red telephone box to prep school masters,' explains Uloth.

Get the tone right

'The voice of the countryside has been bringing news on property, architecture, farming, gardening, sport, art and country people for 112 years,' says Uloth. 'Best of British has been introduced to remind us what is great about this land of ours.'

Approachability

The team has regular contact with all sorts of PROs, from rural organisations to travel companies. It wants accurate tailored material but, most importantly, 'strong, original, quirky ideas that reflect the magazine'.

PR-friendly score: 7/10.
