- Carole Caplin, Cherie Blair's ex-lifestyle adviser, has hired Borkowski to promote the launch of her new health club, Lifesmart at The Albany.

- Edelman has named Roger Pereira as global vice-chairman, reporting to president and CEO Richard Edelman. Mumbai-based Pereira will also become non-executive chairman in India.

- Clydesdale Bank and sister Yorkshire Bank have recruited Linda Bain, former senior V-P of global comms for Hilton Hotels Corporation, as UK head of media relations.

- The CIPR has appointed regulatory consultant Martin Horrox as part of a new drive to improve the way it manages complaints brought against members.
