- The Drinkaware Trust is putting an account worth up to £800,000 in fees up for grabs. The independent charity, funded by the drinks industry, is seeking external support to handle both PR and digital work.

- Little Chef has hired Lucre to handle its consumer PR activity following a four-way pitch.

- Asda has merged its corporate and consumer PR teams into a new media relations team. One PR assistant was made redundant and two PR managers were moved to other departments.

- Interpublic Group has reported 'high single-digit' PR revenue growth during Q4 of 2008, in contrast to steep decline in its event and sports marketing units.

- The National Lottery Promotions Unit has started a pitch for an agency to handle media for its 15th anniversary this year. It has put out a tender to agencies on the COI roster.
