BREAKING NEWS: Orange chooses Golin Harris

Mobile phone firm Orange today named Golin Harris its retained UK PR agency, following a wholesale review of its comms strategy and a decision, made late last year, to put the core of its PR work into a single consultancy.

Golin Harris beat Edelman to win the consumer, corporate, and b2b PR brief, which is understood to be worth more than £1m in fees alone.

The two agencies had previously shared the account, with Golin Harris handling corporate and consumer PR, and Edelman managing the business PR work (PRWeek, 10 December, 2008).

Edelman will continue to work with Orange on its digital PR brief for the UK.

The decision does not affect the work of M&C Saatchi PR Sports and Entertainment, which will continue to support Orange's entertainment activities including the Orange BAFTAs and Glastonbury.
