Car giants' new hires

BMW and Mercedes-Benz have each taken on fresh comms chiefs as the motor industry faces a difficult 2009.

BMW has appointed Graham Biggs as corporate comms director, responsible for the BMW, Mini and Motorrad brands.

The former Rolls-Royce corporate comms head replaces Chris Willows, who retired in October.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz has brought in Andrew Roberts as its corporate communications director.

Roberts will move from his current post of director of brand communications at Land Rover at the end of the month.
