- Connectpoint merges to create new force

Connectpoint PR, the Manchester-based agency, has merged with Amaze Europe and Pavilion Communication to create a new technology-focused PR agency called Amaze. Michael Cooper, previously at Staniforth, has been appointed as online PR business manager. Amaze has offices in Manchester, Runcorn, London and Brussels, and aims to become a leading pan-European digital agency by 2011.

- MyMall, a virtual shopping mall that uses 3D graphics to simulate an actual shopping centre, has hired Onlinefire. MyMall offers more than 500 brands in 36 categories from hotels to clothing. The online shopping mall enables users to browse through different categories and directs them to retailer websites. Onlinefire is a subsidiary of consumer agency Eulogy.

- Waggener Edstrom has appointed Shaun Wootton as general manager for France. Wootton was vice president for Waggener Edstrom South Asia and general manager of its Singapore office. Wootton's objectives are to consolidate existing accounts and pursue new business opportunities in the French market.

- CityAmigo, a London-based company that creates online communities for expats of major cities around the world, has drafted in Hatch PR. LondonAmigo.com is the first website to be launched by the firm. Hatch's brief is to build awareness of LondonAmigo.com in the consumer press and drive new users to the website.
