Flack: (SAVING) on expenses - Cake Boy, London SW18

Reviewer: Catriona Hamilton, account director, Rooster PR

- What is it good for?

Cake Boy is the ideal venue for a casual yet stylish breakfast, brunch or coffee meeting with journalists local to south west London. Chat leisurely over organic Fairtrade coffees and teas and muffins and pastries made on the premises. I found its chilled-out, unhurried atmosphere instantly relaxing - conducive to the exchange of ideas. There is also a private area that can be reserved for larger meetings.

- Signature dish

Afternoon tea includes a choice of teas and a menu of delicious savouries and cute cupcakes, accompanied by a glass of wine or champagne.

- Who's the boss?

Frenchman Eric Lanlard, twice winner of the Continental Patissier of the Year at the British Baking Awards. His cake-making brand, Savoir Design, has an A-list clientele, including Madonna, Sir Elton John and George Michael.

- Tips please?

The venue is great for brainstorming meetings as it has wireless facilities to enable remote working.

- What's the damage?

Around £7 per person for breakfast or lunch.

Unit 2, Kingfisher House, Battersea Reach, Juniper Drive, London SW18 1TX 020 7978 5555
