Abu Dhabi Investment Company (ADIC) has appointed Stephen Bowey, formerly business development director at College Hill, as its head of comms. ADIC is the first investment company in Abu Dhabi and one of the leading financial services firms in the region. Bowey has 28 years of comms experience in the Netherlands, South Africa, and the UK. Before joining College Hill he was head of comms at Old Mutual, South Africa.
FD has more financial PR clients than other agencies, according to the Hemscott financial PR rankings. The quarterly rankings of UK-listed companies saw FD maintain its lead over Buchanan Communications and Brunswick. FD lost two clients, dropping to 171 in the three months up to 5 November. Buchanan gained 14 clients over the period to climb to 146 accounts with Brunswick dropping five to 88.
Headland Consultancy has signed up Maria Shum as a consultant. She joins from FD, where she was an associate VP. She specialises in investment, pensions and wealth management and in her new role she will work on a number of existing clients, including AXA Private Equity, Standard Chartered Private Bank, Aviva Investors and Alvarez & Marsal.
Insight Consultants, the Irish PR agency established in 2006 by former Fleishman Hillard executives Michael Parker and Michael Keane, has entered into a strategic alliance with Citigate Dewe Rogerson. The arrangement gives Citigate direct access to the Irish market through a local partner and its multinational presence will enable Insight's clients to reach international audiences.
Och-Ziff Capital, a global institutional alternative asset management firm, has brought in Maitland to act as its retained PR adviser. Maitland will look after financial comms for Och-Ziff's UK and European operations.
Bottle PR has won three online brands including leading personal finance website compareandsave.com. Bottle PR pitched against two other agencies to win the account. The agency has also won helphound.com, an online business review site, and everydaysale.co.uk, a voucher codes site for vigilant shoppers.
