- EasyJet has taken on Beattie Communications as its first external consumer PR agency. Beattie beat Paratus Communications and Trimedia to the brief.

- Propeller Group has acquired digital specialist BlondeGorilla to expand its digital offering. Ryan Malone, BlondeGorilla's majority shareholder, has joined Propeller's board.

- Five has hired former ITV head of press Andrew Sholl as head of strategic comms. His role will include speechwriting, commercial PR and internal comms.

- Redhead PR has ceased trading as founder Sara Tye becomes consumer/lifestyle director at Lawson Dodd. She takes Redhead's seven clients with her.

- Wessex and west of England CIPR Pride Awards have honoured Remarkable Group, Skandia, Trimedia and UCAS. A full write-up will follow in next week's issue.
