The site was made famous when Paris Hilton used it to release her spoof video rebuttal to US presidential candidate John McCain after he used the socialite's image in an attack advertisement against Barack Obama.

It was founded by comedy actors Will Ferrell and Adam McKay and in August had over nine million unique viewers.

Taylor Herring will work with the site initially until Christmas. It will handle national consumer, trade and digital media.

The Little Britain duo, Matt Lucas and David Walliams, are spearheading the launch and will be putting up exclusive new sketches and a weekly blog on the site.
