From our Readers: Pharma has a chance to save its reputation

The past few weeks have been a period of heightened anticipation for the healthcare communications industry.

This week there was the Darzi report on the NHS Next Stage Review. This past week has also seen the proposal of changes to the NICE approval processes of drugs used in the NHS, which appears to be excellent news for the pharma industry.

Coupled with the new ABPI code, also unveiled this week, changes are afoot for us all.

As a recent report written by Virgo Health shows, for too long the pharmaceutical industry has been the popular scapegoat for many of the ills facing the healthcare industry and the NHS. This week provides us all with an opportunity to make our collective reputation healthier.
