Chime sees growth despite economic gloom

Chime Communications, owner of the Bell Pottinger Group, has issued a buoyant trading update predicting that operating income is set to be 20 per cent higher year on year.

'Our strong performance of last year has been maintained, with first half operating income 25 per cent higher than last year,' said Chime Communications chairman Lord Bell.

'This strong performance, combined with our emphasis on tight cost control and a good new business pipeline leaves us well placed to meet our expectations for the full year.'

The Group said there was 'no evidence' of performance being affected by the predicted economic slowdown.
