Weber Shandwick's Scottish office has been hired for a Scotland-wide consumer and corporate PR brief.

The agency won the account following a four-way pitch and replaces incumbent Real PR. It will target home buyers and corporate audiences as part of the brief.

'The housing market in Scotland is to a certain extent bucking the general UK slow-down, but there are still significant challenges to overcome,' said Weber Shandwick director Richard Bright.

'Cala is faring better than other homebuilders, in that the lack of mortgages is more acute at the lower end of the market, while Cala operates in the middle to upper market segments.'

The contract will be managed from Weber Shandwick's offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. The agency will report to Cala Homes chairman Gerry More.
