LSC's Munro switches to new role at Advocate

Healthcare shop Advocate has appointed Helen Munro to the newly created position of associate director.

Munro joins the healthcare policy and public affairs agency after six months as head of external affairs at the Learning & Skills Council (LSC).

Munro will provide political advice on issues relating to the access to treatment for rare diseases and the development of client relationships with decision-makers in Westminster and Whitehall. She will also offer advice to Advocate's clients, which include Bayer Schering Pharma, Idis and the Medical Defence Union.

Munro will report to Advocate MD Jamie Holyer.

Munro started her consultancy career at The Whitehouse Consultancy. She then joined Munro and Forster, heading its Political and Stakeholder Counsel.

She has run a variety of high-profile campaigns for clients on issues including obesity, diet and nutrition, sexual and reproductive healthcare and lung disease awareness.

The LSC is a non-departmental public body responsible for planning and funding education and non-university-based training for young people in England.
