EML to promote 'geotagging' chip

A start-up that specialises in 'geotagging' technology has brought in PR support for a US, UK and Asia-wide brief.

EML has been hired to launch Air Semiconductor's new technology to the Asian market following successful press launches in the UK and US.

The London agency specialises in launching tech start-ups to the media, having worked on about 20 similar campaigns.

Air Semiconductor produces digital chips using GPS, giving mobile phones, wristwatches and other gadgets continual awareness of their location.

The company's Air Semi Airwave 1 chip allows digital photographs to be tagged by geography, in the same way that the camera automatically records date and time.

The account team will be led by MD Richard Parker, who called the Air Semiconductor account 'significant'.

'Its technology will have wide-reaching effects, both in the digital camera market and in mobile phones,' said Parker.
