The broadcaster has decided not to fill outgoing director of corporate affairs Jim Godfrey's role when he leaves at the end of March to start his own agency (PRWeek, 24 January ).
Instead, director of channels and commercial comms Ruth Settle will assume the role of director of corporate comms.
Four new heads of press will report to Settle, covering separately ITV's channels, financial and commercial, consumer, and global content businesses.
ITV is still recruiting for these positions, and said it was ‘in active discussions with a number of senior PROs'. Announcements are expected next week.
The broadcaster has also recruited a well-known political adviser to the new role of director of public affairs.
Nigel Warner moves to ITV from his role as special adviser to Tessa Jowell, in both the Department for Culture Media and Sport and the Cabinet Office.
Warner is a former director at public affairs firm Lexington Communications, and a one-time adviser to Mo Mowlam (PRWeek, 5 October 2006 ).
He was Mowlam's aide during her time as Northern Ireland Secretary and her spell at the Cabinet Office.
Both Settle and Warner will report to group director of corporate affairs Mark Gallagher, who said the restructure would give the broadcaster ‘increased firepower' in its comms team.
‘It gives us greater resources to ensure we get our message across and communicate the important changes Michael Grade and the executive team are making at ITV,' he added.
