Insight support for bill on special needs children

Insight Public Affairs is helping to push through a private members bill that would improve the data collected about children with special needs.

The SEN bill is being proposed by Labour MP Sharon Hodgson, whose son has severe dyslexia. It would require the Government to collect and publish information relating to outcomes for children with special educational needs. The bill passed its second reading earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Insight is now a 10-strong outfit after appointing Edelman senior account manager Chris West as account director. Before joining Edelman in 2004, West worked at Weber Shandwick for four years.

In other changes at the agency, former British Retail Consortium public affairs manager James Tyrrell has been promoted to associate director, while Amanda Stuart and Andrew Hobson have moved to account director roles.

Insight was set up in January 2006 by former Edelman director John Lehal.
