Technology: Weber agency in online CSR drive

Larry Weber's digital PR agency has launched a corporate practice aimed at companies, countries and NGOs looking to modernise their approach to CSR.

The Racepoint Group's new offshoot World 2.0 will help clients use the internet to reach grassroots stakeholders and increase support in online communities.

Weber, head of the W2 Group, will lead the division out of Racepoint's Massachusetts headquarters, with a team in its London office working on behalf of European clients. Racepoint's UK MD Jay O'Connor is recruiting a new team to work alongside the agency's directors in the World 2.0 practice.

'Average citizens now have a voice and are actively shaping how companies go to market, and how countries develop and implement policies,' said O'Connor. 'NGOs are capitalising on this shift as well, using new technologies to mobilise public support on their behalf.'

The agency expects both existing and new clients to sign on to the new service.
