Public Sector: Drive to highlight basic wage hike

The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform plans to raise awareness of changes to the minimum wage with an experiential campaign using a converted double-decker bus.

The campaign, overseen by the Central Office of Information, will provide information and advice to locals in 30 towns and cities for nine weeks, starting this month.

The basic minimum wage for workers recently rose by 17p to £5.52 per hour.

The bus will visit strategically positioned 'bus stops', where visitors can access wage information online.
