Dawson-Shepherd leaves Cadbury

Cadbury Schweppes' global corporate comms director has left after five years without a job to go to.

It is understood Andraea Dawson-Shepherd is the casualty of a wide-ranging restructure of the comms functions at the confectionery giant.

She will not be directly replaced, but corporate responsibility director Alex Cole has been promoted to the role of corporate affairs director - overseeing corporate responsibility, public affairs and corporate comms.

Dawson-Shepherd's departure follows a tough period for Cadbury Schweppes, during which it has weathered the fallout from a salmonella scare and faced criticism over the marketing of its chewing gum brand Trident.

Cadbury is also in the middle of plans to separate its confectionery and soft drinks businesses.

Cadbury Schweppes declined to comment on Dawson-Shepherd's departure and she could not be reached as PRWeek went to press.

Sources close to Dawson-Shepherd said she is in discussion with a number of companies about high-level comms positions.
